About the role
- increase stakeholder understanding of the university's positions and aspirations
- design communication plans to communicate university messaging around strategic initiatives
- coordinate with university leadership for accurate communication
- draft communications in the voice of university leaders to internal and external audiences
- support nearly 200 events + communications professionals across the University
- contribute to the university’s communications strategies by generating increased visibility and awareness of the university's objectives, goals and positions
- key role in internal communications for senior leaders of the university and departments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications or related field of study
- at least three to four years of experience in public relations, journalism, broadcasting, higher education, non-profit institution or related area
- excellent written and oral communications skills
- good judgment
- ability to work on deadline
- demonstrated interpersonal skills
- flexibility
- willingness to work evenings and weekends
- ability to exercise diplomacy and manage a high-volume of communication initiative at the same time
- meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure
- eye for detail
