About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Senior Director of Student Accounts is a strategic leader focused on all aspects of student billing, collections, and customer service related to student financial accounts.
  • Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Director is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Student Accounts Office, which includes billing, cashiering, payment plans, collections, refunds, and compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations related to student financial activity.
  • Additionally, the Direction will oversee the university's PCI compliance program, student loan services, and related functions.
  • The Senior Director will drive process improvements, leverage technology to enhance the student experience, and ensure the fiscal integrity of student financial records for all of Georgetown’s campuses and programs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in student accounts, bursar operations, or a related financial service area, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and federal regulations governing student financial aid.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage complex financial/student information systems (e.g., Banner, Workday, Touchnet).
