About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in understanding and refining requirements, identifying scenarios, business rules and risks.
Transform requirements and acceptance criteria into structured test scenarios using BDD.
Plan the test strategy, defining what should be manual and what should be automated.
Develop, maintain and evolve automated UI tests using Cypress and Cucumber.
Integrate and monitor the execution of automated tests in CI/CD pipelines.
Perform exploratory and manual testing when necessary, especially for new features or scenarios not yet covered by automation.
Analyze failures identified during test execution, investigate root causes and collaborate with the team on resolution.
Identify flaky, redundant or low-value tests, continuously improving the automation suite.
Record and track defects clearly, facilitating reproduction and correction.
Use AI tools to support scenario creation, identification of edge cases, automation and failure analysis.
Work collaboratively with Developers, Product Owners, UX and other team members, contributing to shared ownership of quality.
Share knowledge and best practices, contributing to the technical growth of the QA team.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or Technologist degree completed in Information Technology or related fields.
Solid knowledge of software testing and quality strategies.
Ability to interpret requirements and acceptance criteria and convert them into test scenarios.
Knowledge of BDD, Cucumber and Cypress for UI test automation.
Knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript applied to automated tests.
Knowledge of functional, regression and exploratory testing.
Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum) and the QA role during the sprint.
Familiarity with Git and version control.
Familiarity with AI tools applied to development and QA.
Experience structuring automation projects with Cypress + Cucumber + BDD is a plus.
Experience with automation integrated into CI/CD pipelines and automated REST API testing is a plus.
Knowledge of the test pyramid and defining the appropriate level of automation is a plus.
Experience with quality metrics and test coverage is a plus.
Experience using AI for scenario generation, automation, test refactoring or failure analysis is a plus.
Experience defining standards and best practices for test automation is a plus.
