About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Selecting, contracting, and managing quality suppliers is critical to protecting Genworth and ensuring we are able to meet our stakeholder commitments.
- Collaborating closely with your business clients, select and contract with suppliers offering the most value (for example, cost savings, cost avoidance, agreement to key terms) to Genworth
- Use the supplier risk tools to determine the service's risk tier and lead the business through the Supplier Life-Cycle stages: selection, contracting, management, and exit.
- Manage and maintain strategic relationships with VARs and to drive performance, contract compliance, and value delivery.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to understand their sourcing needs, specifications, and requirements.
- Develop and issue complex Request for Proposals, manage the selection process and lead contract negotiations.
- Work with the Sourcing Operations and Supplier Management Leader to drive adherence to Sourcing and Supplier Management Policy.
- Manage a pipeline of sourcing projects, ensuring prioritization aligns with enterprise goals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA in Business, Finance or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in a Sourcing and or Supply Management role or Program Management role
- Strong Analytical skills
- Inquisitive – desire to continuously learn and grow
- Passion for increasing opportunities for diverse businesses
- Demonstrated effective influencing and team building skills with ability to drive results and gain commitment at all levels across the organization
- Comfortable with conflict – creating, managing, and resolving
- Attention to detail and willingness to read and review documentation
- Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
- Knowledgeable on Microsoft suite of office products (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, etc)
