About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Visioning and programming for interior design and interior architecture projects, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, shop drawing reviews, code compliance, and construction administration
- Participate in the selection and documentation of furniture, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and decorative lighting
- Generate finish plans, RCPs, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork drawings and details
- Provide design support and documentation during project execution
- Coordinate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
- Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.)
- Support design presentations and develop effective client relationships as trusted advisor
- Support marketing and business development efforts as needed
- Guide and mentor teammates
- QA/QC specifications and construction document sets
- Strive to elevate design quality on every project, and foster and cultivate a culture of design in the office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Approximately 10-15 years of interior design experience with varying project types with an emphasis on Aviation and/or Hospitality projects
- Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programs
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Advanced knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
- Advanced knowledge of interior construction documents
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and safety considerations
- Strong storytelling ability, both verbal and written, that conveys purpose and impact
- Strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus
