About the role
- Support "IT Support Specialist” online training facilitation based on existing content: Providing quality, effective, rigorous, relevant and adapted training to an adult audience based on the course of the Generation program for which training is provided.
- Developing a training based on strong and trusting relationships with learners and knowledge of their strengths and challenges.
- Being accessible to learners through mechanisms such as office hours and/or other strategic learning opportunities.
- Respond to learners’ requests and contributions on Generation’s online training communication channels (MS Teams).
- Submit attendance reports in using Generation digital tools (Canvas LMS) at the agreed frequency, ensuring accurate records and flagging any attendance risks or trends.
- Conduct assessments and report data on our traceability tools and report progress regularly.
- Provide feedback inputs to the Generation team and document the actions taken in response to recommendations, noting improvements implemented during the training period.
- Produce organized digital folders, uploaded materials, or activity outputs using MS Teams and GDrive, ensuring all instructional tasks are completed according to the agreed expectations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years industry experience (IT Support role, such as IT Support Specialist or IT Service Desk Analyst), and 1+ years teaching experience.
- Note: Graduates from Generation are eligible to apply, and a comprehensive evaluation of their profile, experience, and skills will be conducted for the position.
- Have B2 or C1 level of English and the capacity to teach technical classes in English
- Demonstrate some level of skill with the following topics : Agile principles and SCRUM rituals as used in the IT industry
- Programming (Variables, Data Types, Control Flow, Functions, Web APIs)
- General Computing (Binary and Hexadecimal arithmetic, Units of measurement for data, CPU Architectures and Instruction Sets, Computer Hardware, Cloud Computing fundamentals)
- Networking (TCP/IP stack including Packet Switching (compared to earlier forms of switching), Ethernet Frames and MAC Addresses, IP Packets, Addresses and Subnets, TCP and UDP, DNS and HTTP)
- Security (Passwords, Attack surfaces and vulnerabilities, Authentication vs Authorisation, Firewalls and NAT)
- Linux fundamentals
- Any other role-specific skills as they pertain to the specific program role (ie. Linux Operations and Kubernetes for Platform Engineer, JavaScript, HTML and CSS for SWE, etc.)
- Some experience as a professional adult trainer
- Strong command of digital tools is key, in particular: Google Workspace MS Teams Online Integrated Development Environments such as Replit
- Excellent communication skills (writing + oral expression), using communication online tools like Slack and emails

- Consultant will also provide supplementary activities in support of the training program as follows: Deliver periodic summaries that reflect insights gained from interactions with learners, including observations about their strengths and challenges, Assess and advise the Generation team about obstacles to learners' success and transition into a professional environment Participate in the organization of the cohort launch (e.g., lead pre-program orientation sessions, collaborate with delivery team and mentors, etc.) Attend onboarding sessions as agreed with the Generation team before cohort launch Attend upskilling sessions of the content of the program
