Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as primary legal counsel to Generate’s development teams on energy projects from inception through construction
Negotiate and draft a broad range of development agreements, including EPC contracts, procurement agreements, offtake agreements, and interconnection agreements
Provide counsel and manage regulatory compliance matters, including regulatory filings, submissions, and ongoing compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Partner with cross-functional teams to facilitate timely project execution and resolve issues as they arise
Support day-to-day legal needs across Generate’s project portfolio
Adapt quickly to new asset types and legal contexts

Requirements

What you’ll need

JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership; approximately 4 – 8 years of legal experience
Experience with energy project development, EPC agreements, procurement contracts, and offtake agreements is highly valued
Familiarity with permitting, interconnection, and energy regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Behind-the-meter power project experience is a plus; digital infrastructure is nice-to-have but not required
Strong attention to detail, sound drafting instincts, and good interpersonal skills across development, engineering, finance, and operations teams
Collaborative, with strong judgment under ambiguity
