About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop software as part of an agile scrum team responsible for GM's in-house Java-based Rhapsody modelling tool for SDV2 architecture
- Design and implement middleware code generation to support controller builds
- Manage and implement Jenkins pipelines for automated generation of CI/CD artifacts
- Manage and perform smoke testing for tool capabilities during each program increment
- Maintain evaluation and production tool release processes for GM internal users
- Develop and test Java automation scripts for software and system engineering models according to GM modelling standards
- Identify, design, and implement workflow modifications with multiple business teams and business application extensions
- Analyze and resolve user issues related to serial data and diagnostic communication between ECUs
- Lead and generate technical solutions, including requirements specification, functional decomposition, analysis, development, and testing
- Specify and balance system requirements within engineering and IT environments
- Formalize tooling process documentation and training materials
- Provide technical guidance to GM business owners on new processes and tooling support for SDV architectures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred) or related field
- 2+ years of experience in the automotive industry
- Demonstrated proficiency with Java
- Knowledge of SDV AUTOSAR methodologies
- Experience with open-source tooling, including Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and JIRA
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-change environment and demonstrate initiative
- Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
- Demonstrated experience with system engineering modelling tools
- Strong experience with Java Swing, Java SWT, Java AWT, or JavaFX
- Understanding of automotive embedded systems
- Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Experience with Product Line Engineering (PLE) principles
- Required to report to Warren, Michigan at least three times per week
- Required to travel less than 25%
