About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain configuration files defining the operational state of vehicle Control and Data planes
- Design, implement, and maintain software pipelines verifying vehicle data and control-plane parameter integrity
- Build tools to ingest, cross-check, manage changes, and release data-recording configuration files
- Create workflows for automated verification of configuration parameters
- Maintain records of configuration files, parameter definitions, boundaries, optimal values, and system-level impacts
- Support CI/CD and DevOps initiatives for automated integration, testing, and release
- Analyze vehicle data logs to identify discrepancies and optimize system performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of vehicle data recording and analytics software
- Collaborate across diverse engineering teams at General Motors, which designs, builds, and sells vehicles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering or equivalent
- Eligible to work full-time hours, 40 hours a week, for an 8- or 12-month term starting January 2027
- Must be enrolled in a co-op program and meet the program’s eligibility requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must not require sponsorship to work in Canada now or in the future
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C/C++
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and workflow automation
- Understanding of logging and data processing concepts
- Experience with calibration/configuration tools and processes
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure and logging services
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, embedded software development, and optimization
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
