About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain configuration files defining the operational state of vehicle Control and Data planes
  • Design, implement, and maintain software pipelines verifying vehicle data and control-plane parameter integrity
  • Build tools to ingest, cross-check, manage changes, and release data-recording configuration files
  • Create workflows for automated verification of configuration parameters
  • Maintain records of configuration files, parameter definitions, boundaries, optimal values, and system-level impacts
  • Support CI/CD and DevOps initiatives for automated integration, testing, and release
  • Analyze vehicle data logs to identify discrepancies and optimize system performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of vehicle data recording and analytics software
  • Collaborate across diverse engineering teams at General Motors, which designs, builds, and sells vehicles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering or equivalent
  • Eligible to work full-time hours, 40 hours a week, for an 8- or 12-month term starting January 2027
  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program and meet the program’s eligibility requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in Canada now or in the future
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or C/C++
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and workflow automation
  • Understanding of logging and data processing concepts
  • Experience with calibration/configuration tools and processes
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure and logging services
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, embedded software development, and optimization
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
