About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as program manager for an assigned SMT
  • Partner with GM purchasing and cross-functional finance teams to verify budgets and forecasts
  • Communicate with purchasing leadership, business planners, budget leaders, and executive stakeholders
  • Provide financial control over GM spend and monitor long-term volume forecasts
  • Work with PPCO cost engineering and value chain engineering teams on supplier claims and opportunities
  • Analyze and submit monthly forecasted material cost changes
  • Support month-end reporting
  • Analyze vehicle-level material cost trends and identify forecast risks and opportunities
  • Prepare analyses and charts for finance and operational leadership reviews
  • Participate in and support cross-functional special studies
  • Act as an informal supervisor and leader among peers as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of operating finance experience or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or engineering
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with cost bucketing: labor, burden, material, SG&A, and profit
  • Familiarity with basic managerial accounting principles
  • Critical thinking, inquisitive mind, and strong learning agility
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues and data
  • Advanced Excel and strong financial modeling skills
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely, and reliable reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to structure straightforward, efficient presentations
  • Ability to communicate key issues for action or decision
  • Comfortable presenting data to various organizational levels
  • MBA or MS Finance preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work onsite at Global HQ in Warren, Michigan at least three times per week
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future
