About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver project management services supporting Die Engineering, die shops, and stamping plants
  • Manage die procurement activities from Statements of Requirements and Requests for Quotes through Ariba Shopping Carts, verification tryout material, and change management
  • Deliver ready-to-run, lean dies on time to stamping plant customers while meeting Body Shop quality requirements and program investment targets
  • Engage in advanced engineering activities and source die/checking fixture work to suppliers
  • Support supplier scoping meetings, provide engineering deliverables, and conduct vendor kickoffs and P2 production release reviews
  • Support steel/aluminum procurement for primary die tryout material
  • Bundle competitive bids and create quote packages for Purchasing
  • Submit shopping carts and follow up with approvers through purchase order completion
  • Provide supplier cost and timing to support engineering work orders through the Change Management Tracking process
  • Manage batch changes and escalate to commodity managers when required
  • Support the flowback process by providing cost and timing to the launch team
  • Drive and support business plan initiatives in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience
  • General knowledge of design processes and stamped sheet metal part manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of engineering change management processes, including interpreting and implementing design changes throughout a program lifecycle
  • Experience collaborating with product engineering teams to align manufacturing engineering requirements with vehicle development milestones
  • Extensive program management skills for large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience overseeing complex timelines, multi-million-dollar budgets, and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Working knowledge of Vehicle Development Process timing and key milestone events
  • Experience in stamping/die engineering preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing process engineering preferred
  • Supplier quality and/or product engineering experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of die engineering processes, die integration into press systems, project management, or process control preferred
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, or J-1 sponsorship
