About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with GM groups and partners supporting Sports Car racing programs to design, develop, test, and support electronic systems for vehicle functionality and performance
Perform electronic system integration and testing on and off the car through simulation, track, and bench testing
Travel to domestic and international events to develop and support electronic systems, including hardware, software, and tools
Embed with a Sports Car racing team to provide frontline support and act as a communication conduit to the broader GM Motorsports organization
Manage a dynamic workload to help GM race teams perform at the highest level
Support virtual development and simulation environments, including SiL, HiL, and DiL
Document customer requirements, identify integration methods, translate requirements into functional solutions, and validate changes
Find and solve issue root causes, particularly in high-stress environments
Manage projects, including issue triage and management

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Motorsports Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study
Three (3) years of experience as a Systems Engineer or related occupation
Three (3) years of experience with automotive electronic systems, including CAN, Ethernet, electrical architecture, and telemetry
Three (3) years of experience with automotive electronics
Three (3) years of experience documenting customer requirements, identifying integration methods, translating requirements into functional solutions, and validating changes
Three (3) years of experience using test methodologies and environments, including software-in-the-loop (SiL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HiL)
Three (3) years of experience finding and solving issue root causes, especially in high-stress environments
Three (3) years of experience in project management, including issue triage and management
Must be able to report to the local office
Ability to travel 40% to domestic client sites and to domestic and international events
