About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform structural analysis to lead and execute the development of new architectures and subsequent variants.
  • Drive the design and performance through appropriate analyses, deep dive efficient and integrated design solutions, provide clear design direction and confirm performance.
  • Support hardware elimination through leadership in the Global Focus Groups and drive method development.
  • Create and execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and quasi static analysis plans for assigned projects.
  • Lead internal resources and CAE suppliers to meet program milestones and deliverables.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience as a CAE Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role.
  • Three (3) years of experience with the following: LS-Dyna and ABAQUS; Understanding of FMVSS requirements; and Developing and enhancing new virtual techniques to replace physical test-based methods.
  • Two (2) years of experience with the following: Hypermesh and Optistruct; Refining and improving automotive structure designs via FEA and Quasi static simulations; and Using optimization techniques to ensure cost and mass efficient structural solutions with high reliability.
