About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create, analyze and validate component material costs and targets.
Generate ground-up / detailed material cost estimates that encompass both piece price estimations and production tooling estimations.
Collaborate with key internal cross functional peers.
Active partner with the internal GPSC purchasing team.
Occasional domestic travel to supplier facilities for enhanced costing collaboration and support of the specific engineering / purchasing team.
Support the assigned GM SMT from a tooling and piece price perspective.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s in Finance, or Engineering
3+ years of experience in Finance or Cost Engineering
Experience with Microsoft Office software and MS Excel
Experience with cost estimating software and data analytics tools.
Quick learner, thrives in change, and embraces new tech
Strong communicator and trusted business partner
Self-starter with integrity and drive to deliver results.
5+ Years of experience in cost engineering or related occupation in automotive cost estimating, automotive manufacturing, automotive product design / engineering, or automotive purchasing.
Experience in the financial evaluation of technical concepts and automotive manufacturing production processes.
Experience managing multiple projects and assignments
Experience in a leading role.
Experience working with cost data and working with cross-functional team.
Experience with data driven analysis.
Experience identifying solutions and establishing next steps to assigned projects.
