3D Artist
General Motors3D Artist responsible for creating visual concepts and production-ready assets for GM's digital interfaces. Collaborating with UI designers to enhance in-vehicle user experience.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create visual concepts for user interface features and experiences.
- Partner with UI designers and stakeholders to rapidly iterate on ideas that are both compelling and feasible.
- Refine concepts into high-quality visuals that guide final asset production.
- Produce production-ready assets and supporting design intent documentation.
- Create 3D and 2D deliverables based on program and project needs.
- Help maintain asset libraries to drive consistency, quality, and reuse across programs.
- Contribute to concept development across GM brands and multiple areas of the user experience.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in 3D art, visualization, motion, or related digital design work.
- Strong foundation in 3D visual design and CGI production, with a portfolio demonstrating concept development, visual storytelling, and high-quality execution.
- Ability to take work from early concept through polished, production-ready output that guides downstream production.
- Proficiency in at least one major 3D workflow, such as Blender, Maya, or a similar platform, with experience in low poly modeling, texturing, and visualization workflows.
- Experience using post-production tools such as Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop, or equivalent software to create static 2D imagery, animation, and real-time 3D outputs.
- Strong visual judgment, collaboration skills, and an organized, self-directed approach to managing work, assets, and feedback.
