Senior Global Sourcing Manager – Fuel Tanks
General MotorsSenior Global Sourcing Manager responsible for commodity strategies and supplier negotiations at GM. Collaborating with suppliers to meet budget targets and operational needs in a hybrid work environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for purchasing all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services.
- Actively develop commodity strategies, leading complex global sourcing strategies and negotiations with key supplier partners.
- Develop and execute plans to meet direct material budget targets, collaborating with suppliers and internal partners.
- Lead supplier relationship management initiatives and support direct material budget activities.
- Manage sourcing documentation related to RFQ process adhering to the GM Audit Services requirements.
- Represent purchasing and support mitigation of supply chain disruptions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
- Proficient in completing tasks autonomously, without coaching in the competencies: Data Judgement, Informative Communication, Relationship Management
- Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
