About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop FEA plans for assigned project
  • Participate in the creation of assigned subsystem FEA models
  • Motivate CAE suppliers and internal resources to meet program milestones and deliverables
  • Complete FEA analysis including the production of VDDV models from NX math and execution of documented VDDV models per assigned projects
  • Perform FEA analysis such as Seat/Seat Belt Anchorage Strength, Child Restraint Anchorage Strength, Front/Rear Impact, Head Impact, whiplash etc. and lead seat designs to meet performance requirements
  • Compare FEA results to performance requirements and recommend viable design solutions
  • Correlate analysis results to physical test and update FEA models and/or FEA procedures
  • Document results in FEA reports
  • Generate technical solutions for current, new and major programs
  • Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development
  • Perform sophisticated design analysis
  • Develop engineering designs including subsystems
  • Perform and be responsible for resources for virtual assessment of designs and compare results to performance requirements
  • Initiate design solutions to resolve any performance issues with mass and cost efficiency
  • Implement engineering changes
  • Specify and balance system requirements
  • Plan and implement test and/or development programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience and knowledge of automotive seat systems and related mechanisms
  • 2+ years of experience in Linear Analysis (Nastran, Optistruct, or equivalent) and Non-Linear Analysis, LS Dyna, Abaqus
  • Knowledge of NX
  • Thorough understanding of Material Properties as inputs into CAE analysis tools
