About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The In-Vehicle Software Purchasing role is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationships related to embedded and connected vehicle software.
- Collaborates closely with engineering, legal, cybersecurity, and program management teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
- Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements.
- Develop and manage supplier under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations.
- Active participation with key stakeholders, including engineering, IT, business stakeholder, legal, and security.
- Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.
- Adheres to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
- Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package.
- Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage Sourcing packages.
- Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, engineering, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
- SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
- Automotive industry experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of procurement software (preferred)
- Requires strong strategic thinking and leadership skill (preferred)
- Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.
- Understand basic engineering documents
- Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes.
- High level knowledge about Software/technology
- Must be willing to travel 10% of the time domestically + Internationally.
