About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The In-Vehicle Software Purchasing role is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationships related to embedded and connected vehicle software.
  • Collaborates closely with engineering, legal, cybersecurity, and program management teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
  • Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements.
  • Develop and manage supplier under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations.
  • Active participation with key stakeholders, including engineering, IT, business stakeholder, legal, and security.
  • Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.
  • Adheres to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package.
  • Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage Sourcing packages.
  • Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, engineering, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
  • SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
  • Automotive industry experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of procurement software (preferred)
  • Requires strong strategic thinking and leadership skill (preferred)
  • Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.
  • Understand basic engineering documents
  • Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes.
  • High level knowledge about Software/technology
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of the time domestically + Internationally.
