About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The In-Vehicle Software Purchasing role is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationships related to embedded and connected vehicle software.
Collaborates closely with engineering, legal, cybersecurity, and program management teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements.
Develop and manage supplier under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations.
Active participation with key stakeholders, including engineering, IT, business stakeholder, legal, and security.
Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.
Adheres to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package.
Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage Sourcing packages.
Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, engineering, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
Automotive industry experience (preferred)
Knowledge of procurement software (preferred)
Requires strong strategic thinking and leadership skill (preferred)
Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.
Understand basic engineering documents
Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes.
High level knowledge about Software/technology
Must be willing to travel 10% of the time domestically + Internationally.
