Functional System Architect – Engine Controls

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join the Engine & Transmission Controls group as a Functional System Architect (FSA)
- Understand and define functional system requirements and architectures in relation to various components
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the Sub-System Lead Engineers
- Develop and drive requirements architectural vision and ART Solution context for your domain
- Champion the roll-down from FTS, STS, Initiative, and Product Team to create requirements architecture
- Ensure seamless integration of various systems into the vehicle
- Act as the lead contact for the Engineering Pillar of the Product Team
- Collaborate with Product Team members to define the ART functional architecture vision
- Support development scrum teams in the ICEPROP ART
- Capture customer-facing requirements
- Reference System Safety Hazard Analysis and comprehend applicable regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors Degree in engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with Engine Controls Systems
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with Engine Integration
- Expert understanding of the physics related to Engine Combustion and/or fluid dynamics
- High level of analytical problem-solving ability
- Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from manager
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal styles and communication
- Experience with Requirements management tools (i.e. Doors, DNG, etc.)
- Experience with Change management tools (i.e. Jira)
- Background using simulation environments and Plant modeling for fault insertion analysis, testing, requirements generation (Matlab/Simulink, GMSIM, D-Space, ETAS, other)
