About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for end-to-end accounting, reporting, and controls over incentive compensation programs
  • Lead preparation of complex consolidating journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytic reviews
  • Partner closely with Global Compensation, Payroll, Tax, Corporate FP&A, and Controllership
  • Prepare, review, and own monthly consolidating/manual journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial statements for applicable areas and sections of the 10-Q/10-K SEC reports
  • Coordinate push down for specific entities with statutory requirements
  • Ensure entries are complete, accurate, and aligned with US GAAP and GM accounting policies
  • Perform monthly P&L and balance sheet analytics
  • Maintain core enabling tools and structures for the team
  • Provide clear, well-supported data to Controllership leadership regarding award true-up analysis
  • Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
  • Collaborate with various teams to obtain and validate source data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting; experience in a large corporate or public accounting environment preferred
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and internal control concepts, including documentation and testing of key controls
  • Demonstrated experience preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Advanced Excel with ability to work with large data sets
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight month-end and quarter-end deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document accounting positions and explain results to non-accountants
