  • Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.
  • Lead new IC design/development strategic to advanced in-vehicle architectures.
  • Lead/oversee electrical schematic, PCB layout, high‑current design, EMI/EMC robustness, thermal design, and packaging.
  • Assess the feasibility of proposed electrical hardware designs, considering factors such as cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Support next generation designs in digital/analog hardware including CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet, diagnostics (UDS/OBD), engine and transmission controls, mixed-signal circuits, power stages, solenoid drivers, sensor interfaces, and analog front ends.
  • Perform/Review/approve electrical worst-case analysis.
  • Approve PCB designs and ensure DFM/DFA/DFR.
  • Represent the GM HW team as design expert in the core technologies developed among the team.
  • Optimize five-point parametric tests and finalize end of line production tests.
  • Lead the process as a build-to-print engineer that also acts as a liaison with the contract house.
  • Apply cost effective solutions with improved performance design.
  • Lead product development as part of a multi hub engineering organization.
  • Refine/optimize global controller requirements.
  • Maintain Hardware Design deliverables e.g., Block Diagram, Schematics, PCB layout, etc…
  • Lead Peer Reviews and identify issues (e.g. integration, interfaces, systemic issues).
  • Support model-based development and HIL/SIL/MIL validation.
  • Align hardware capabilities with transmission/engine control strategies.
  • Support Engineering Change Request (ECR).
  • Support Assembly Plant issue resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting activities to support PRTS Issue Resolution.
  • Drive read-across activities from recalls and investigations and support Product Investigations (SFI Process).
  • Lead Cost Reduction.
  • Mentor DRE’s and other support personnel.
  • Provides guidance and consultation to Design Release Engineers (DREs) in product development team meeting.
  • Create and maintain Best Practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within propulsion teams and across other SMTs.
  • Collaborate and strategize with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure all vehicle Program Imperatives (i.e., piece cost, investment, mass, base engineering content & IPTV) involving these components are met.
  • Work with DRE/Validation group to setup a plan for a component validation plan (includes component software verification) and ensure that the plan is executed in time to meet program imperatives.
  • Lead DV/PV testing, EMI/EMC testing, and durability validation.
  • Participate/lead in Formal Design, Peer and Quality Valve reviews as required by the Vehicle Development Process (VDP).
  • Support ISO 26262 hardware safety analysis.
  • Develop/Review/Approve all In-process Electrical test plans.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and support supplier qualification.
  • Support vehicle integration activity for pre-production and production vehicles.
  • Lead/participate in issue resolution for design and development issues, ECU warranty analysis, parts restriction and report updates as required to Engineering and Vehicle Team leadership.
  • Lead/support DFMEA/PFMEA.
