Senior Design Release Engineer – Outsourced Brake Controls

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and integration activities for outsourced brake control software, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, development teams, and validation engineers, to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Manage and execute engineering release processes utilizing Engineering Release Systems, including documentation, configuration management, and issue tracking.
- Apply Group Problem Solving techniques to identify and resolve complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Manage software validation plans for your assigned program.
- Issue part saleable status based on successful completion of all required testing.
- Support controller warranty analysis, issue resolution, parts restriction, and report updates as required to team leadership.
- Act as a technical lead for cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and driving accountability for project deliverables.
- Ensure all software releases meet General Motors' stringent safety, performance, and quality standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software design, development, and integration, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Engineering Release Systems and their application in a complex product development environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
- Proficiency in Group Problem Solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter Visualization or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
- Highly results-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
