About the role
- Lead a team to purchase all transportation and material management services for the Customer Care & Aftersales Logistics team.
- Set and execute current/future sourcing strategies.
- Develop commodity strategies and coach team members with the sourcing process and supplier negotiations.
- Develop a plan to achieve budget execution for your team.
- Work collaboratively with your Senior Group Logistics Manager to lead a team of purchasing professionals.
- Manage global Purchasing staff meetings and larger cross-functional reviews with key stakeholders.
- Improve supplier relationships through collaboration and engagement programs.
- Participate in supplier KPI reviews and conduct carrier business reviews.
- Collaborate with GM Legal staff to develop terms and conditions specific to transportation services.
- Utilize the GPSC sourcing process to manage sourcing packages and establish a competitive global supply base.
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics operations, etc.
- Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
- Expertise in MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Proficient in completing tasks autonomously, without coaching in various competencies: Data Judgement, Informative Communication, Relationship Management, Negotiation, Analytical Thinking, Results Focus, Workload Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Logistics, related field (Preferred)
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) modeling or related experience (Preferred)
- Experience with automotive aftermarket part management, warehousing, transportation services, mode conversion analysis, contract terms & conditions negotiations, etc. (Preferred)
- Automotive industry experience (Preferred)
- Knowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processes (Preferred)
