About the role

- Create and maintain a prioritized roadmap spanning UX, software, optics/display hardware, and vehicle program integration; define milestones, dependencies, and release scope.
- Translate customer insights, usability research, and telemetry into product requirements, success metrics, and experiments (A/B tests, clinics, simulator/on-road studies).
- Lead cross-functional execution with Design, Engineering, Program, Legal, Safety, and Quality; manage tradeoffs between customer value, cost, technical feasibility, and schedule.
- Ensure compliance alignment for safety-related content and driver assistance messaging (definitions, disclaimers, and human factors considerations) in collaboration with Legal/Compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-launch monitoring, defect triage, and feature iteration; communicate status and decisions clearly to executive and working-team stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience delivering technology products (embedded, mobile, web, UX, interface, or platform), including defining requirements and road maps.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority across design, engineering, program management, and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear narratives.
- Experience using data and research to make decisions (metrics, instrumentation, customer research, usability/human factors inputs).
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and making principled tradeoffs to meet safety, customer experience, and business objectives.
- Experience with in-vehicle HMI, HUD/cluster/infotainment, or ADAS UX, including driver attention and safety-critical alerting considerations (preferred).
- Familiarity with display/optics constraints (brightness, ghosting, field of view, image distance) and how they impact user experience and requirements (preferred).
- Experience partnering with Safety/Systems, Legal/Regulatory, and Quality teams to ship features with compliance considerations (preferred).
- MBA or other advanced degree; automotive or consumer electronics background (preferred).
Benefits
- GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
- Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, retirement savings plan, sickness and accident benefits, life insurance, paid vacation & holidays, tuition assistance programs, employee assistance program, GM vehicle discounts and more.
- Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, though which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
