About the role

  • Own and govern integrated earned-first communications strategies for Chevrolet.
  • Serve as a key strategic counselor and advisor to senior leadership.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary organization of managers, individual contributors, and agencies.
  • Develop and own Chevrolet’s lifestyle and community communications strategy.
  • Anticipate cultural, competitive, and social trends.
  • Define and steward governance, standards, and playbooks for Chevrolet’s storytelling.
  • Lead end-to-end earned media strategy and execution across various platforms.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with top-tier media and community partners.
  • Craft and oversee clear, compelling narratives for lifestyle and community initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional and agency teams to design integrated campaigns.
  • Apply data and insights to evaluate performance and optimize strategy.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, brand or lifestyle communications, or related fields.
  • Deep experience in earned media and media relations.
  • Building and managing high-level relationships with lifestyle, culture, entertainment, and community media.
  • Developing and pitching stories that secure meaningful editorial, broadcast, and digital coverage.
  • Proven track record leading lifestyle and/or community engagement programs.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience (direct reports and complex cross-functional/agency leadership).
  • Executive presence with a strong ability to advise and influence senior leaders.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across various formats.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a complex, fast-paced environment.
