About the role

  • The Tire Modeling and Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer leads the design and development of components and subsystems that critically impact vehicle dynamics performance and structural loads with a heavy focus on tire modeling and simulation.
  • Develop, test, roll out industry leading tire modeling techniques to drive future OE tire and virtual vehicle design, development and validation for Ride, Handling, Steering and Loads.
  • Collaborate to optimize testing, modeling and implementation across GM’s virtual domains.
  • Continuously improve the fidelity of chassis subsystems and full vehicle models.
  • Promote GM values and make customer-focused decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math or Science or closely related field of study
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience focused on tires in the automotive, aircraft, construction, or related industries
  • Experience applying computational methods to solve engineering problems
  • Proficient in using scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python to automate and analyze simulations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams, balancing technical theory with practical limitations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate creative and independent thinking.
