About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic IT programs within GM’s Global Planning, Design, and Product IT organization
  • Drive complex initiatives from concept through delivery
  • Define program scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and dependent work sequencing
  • Identify risks, issues, dependencies, and third-party impacts; develop and execute mitigation plans
  • Communicate program status, risks, dependencies, impacts, metrics, and actions through clear presentations
  • Drive strategic roadmaps, capabilities, priorities, product requirements, and team integration
  • Manage program scope and prioritization
  • Improve workflows, change management, engineering lifecycle processes, efficiency, and PMO impact
  • Apply program management techniques, processes, tools, business acumen, and domain expertise
  • Ensure governance and change management practices are followed
  • Serve as escalation point for program issues, bottlenecks, and risks
  • Manage engineering work in Jira and maintain transparency and accountability
  • Mentor and guide program team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in program management, technical project/program leadership, or engineering within complex enterprise environments
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or Associate's degree with equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional programs, ideally in data-centric domains
  • Ability to drive collaboration across technical and business teams
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and mentoring skills
  • Deep understanding of program management methodologies
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
  • Advanced degree in Program Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or an MBA with a technical focus preferred
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs, including roadmap planning and execution oversight preferred
  • Experience with Team Center, Planisware, Momentum, or similar applications preferred
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced dashboard and reporting tools such as Jira and Glean preferred
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be legally able to operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review
