About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather and analyze field-level information with regional and Central Office teams
  • Identify trends and key drivers of parts and service performance across national, regional, and local markets
  • Develop practical insights and repeatable reporting tools supporting field sales effectiveness and dealer growth
  • Support regional initiatives, campaigns, and dealer engagement strategies for parts, accessories, and service growth
  • Participate in field visits and structured shadowing, including planning, dealer meetings, follow-up, and action tracking
  • Translate dealer and customer feedback into observations and recommendations for regional teams
  • Prepare updates communicating project progress, risks, and learnings to leaders and program sponsors
  • Complete a capstone project addressing a regional opportunity through analysis and recommendations
  • Present project findings and recommendations to regional and Customer Care and Aftersales leaders
  • Participate in regional immersion, field travel, Central Office exposure, mentorship, and regular check-ins
  • Work with District Managers, Zone Managers, regional leaders, Central Office partners, and Customer Care and Aftersales professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer internship
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region
  • Willingness to travel to the Central Office in Warren, Michigan, for a required two-week immersion
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with a team
  • Must legally operate a motor vehicle in accordance with licensing requirements of the states in which work is performed
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • Preferred: demonstrated leadership through academics, extracurricular activities, prior internships, or community involvement
  • Preferred: interest in the automotive industry, customer experience, and dealer success
  • Preferred: interest in a field-based commercial career path
  • Preferred: experience with information, dashboards, or business analytics tools
  • Preferred: ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and take initiative in ambiguous situations
