About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end execution for GM’s EV Software & Electronics Platform
  • Own integrated execution plans from requirements and architecture through vehicle integration, validation, launch readiness, and post-launch follow-through
  • Translate platform roadmaps, vehicle content, customer needs, and engineering commitments into executable work with owners, timing, dependencies, decision points, and exit criteria
  • Coordinate software and hardware deliverables across platform features, ECUs, electrical and logical topology, interfaces, diagnostics, calibration, releases, test assets, and vehicle integration
  • Align platform commitments with Global Vehicle Development Process milestones and manage readiness, risks, and recovery plans
  • Balance common-platform reuse with EV vehicle-program needs, including scope, timing, cost, resource capacity, technical debt, and launch risk
  • Establish decision-ready views of execution health, dependencies, issues, risks, mitigations, and milestone confidence
  • Lead resolution of complex software, electronics, architecture, and vehicle-integration issues
  • Drive decisions through Core PDTs, PAPIR, Dev/Val, and other escalation forums
  • Lead platform readiness planning and status through GVDP and software-quality milestones
  • Ensure evidence, ownership, timing, and countermeasures for readiness reviews, vehicle integration, release completeness, and launch decisions
  • Manage VFRP, TFRP, PRTS/Jira issues, VeSCoM readiness, and software-release dependencies
  • Use execution metrics to identify trends and improve platform health and delivery predictability
  • Partner with vehicle teams, Product and Platform PMO, engineering organizations, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
  • Represent the EV platform in senior reviews and communicate readiness, risks, decisions, escalations, and recovery plans
  • Lead, coach, and develop APEMs responsible for EV platform execution domains
  • Set role boundaries, operating rhythms, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Build team capabilities in systems thinking, software and hardware integration, program execution, risk management, executive communication, and GM development processes
  • Create standard work for planning, readiness, escalation, decision capture, and execution-health reporting
  • Remove organizational friction to support engineering execution and delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years leading complex, cross-functional engineering or vehicle-program execution from plan through delivery
  • Experience integrating software and electronics across vehicle systems, embedded platforms, ECUs, networks, controls, or related products
  • Experience managing technical dependencies, milestone readiness, risks, recovery plans, escalations, and executive-level decisions
  • Ability to lead through influence across multiple organizations with shared accountability
  • Experience developing people, setting expectations, and building a high-performing engineering or program-management team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex technical topics clear and actionable
  • Required travel of less than 25%
  • Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • 10+ years leading complex, cross-functional engineering or vehicle-program execution (preferred)
  • Experience with electric-vehicle platforms, software-defined vehicle architectures, vehicle networks, OTA delivery, diagnostics, vehicle-level integration, and related domains (preferred)
