About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, lead, and deliver secure, scalable integration services connecting GM’s cyber ecosystem
- Own architecture and delivery for APIs, microservices, and event-driven workflows with production SLIs/SLOs
- Build AI-driven workflows for investigations, triage, and orchestration
- Create reusable connectors bridging SIEM, EDR, IAM, SSPM, ITDR, ITSM, cloud telemetry, and related systems
- Implement security automation playbooks that enrich alerts and trigger deterministic and AI-assisted responses
- Harden and observe services using CI/CD, automated testing, performance profiling, metrics, and incident runbooks
- Mentor engineers and lead technical design reviews, coding standards, and reference implementations
- Translate requirements into epics and roadmaps, align stakeholders, and deliver quality work on time
- Partner across SecOps, SOC, Platform, and Data teams to deliver measurable outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-7 years in software security engineering
- Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages
- Expertise in API development, microservices, event streaming, and idempotent integration patterns
- Experience deploying software using modern CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery practices
- Hands-on experience with security tooling integrations such as SIEM, EDR, and SSPM
- Proven AI integration experience with LLM agents, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, and prompt engineering
- Cloud proficiency in Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation
- Data engineering fluency in ETL/ELT, schema design, normalization/enrichment, JSON, YAML, syslog, and STIX/TAXII
- Ability to lead small teams through delivery
- Experience extending vendor SDKs/plugins and contributing to open-source security/AI projects (preferred)
- Security data modeling experience with MITRE ATT&CK mappings, entity graphs, and knowledge stores (preferred)
- Familiarity with Semantic Kernel/LangChain, feature engineering, or lightweight MLOps (preferred)
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship
