About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, test, and operate services that manage autonomous driving software on GM vehicles
- Build on-vehicle services to provision, launch, and monitor autonomous vehicle software
- Build frameworks to configure autonomy software across hardware platforms, simulation environments, and use cases
- Develop systems and frameworks to monitor vehicle status and reliability
- Integrate software with vehicle hardware and validate behavior on benches and vehicles
- Diagnose issues in real-world environments
- Contribute across requirements definition, platform behavior, implementation, integration, and testing
- Progress through increasingly complex assignments while learning from experienced engineers
- Develop abstractions and design guidance for vehicle software developers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recently completed a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in a STEM field; completed degree must be within the past 9 months
- Strong C++ and Python development background demonstrated through coursework, internships, research, or substantial projects
- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, concurrency, and computer architecture
- Ability to debug complex software problems and reason about system behavior
- Interest in autonomous vehicles, robotics, embedded systems, or high-performance software
- Familiarity with robotics middleware platforms, inter-process communication, or logging preferred
- Prior internship, research, or project experience in autonomous driving, robotics, embedded systems, AI/ML infrastructure, or platform software preferred
- Graduation between December 2025 and August 2026, with availability to begin employment in 2026 preferred
