About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the customer’s voice for warranty and customer satisfaction
- Interface with the Vehicle Chief Engineer, program team members, engineering teams, and manufacturing plants
- Liaise between General Motors Defense and customers for HD SUV and other GMO platforms
- Coordinate, communicate, review, and provide support
- Provide technical and administrative support for maintenance, training, quality, readiness, and sustainability issues
- Perform vehicle disassembly, reassembly, and operational verification
- Determine vehicle-system serviceability and repair needs
- Use scan tools, multimeters, and schematics to diagnose and repair vehicle subsystems
- Replace worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts
- Perform maintenance according to prescribed Technical Manuals
- Retrofit vehicle components according to instructions
- Document activities for task and reporting requirements
- Travel to customer locations up to 90% of the time
- Support warranty claims processes
- Identify, track, and resolve issues early
- Assist in developing operator and maintainer training
- Perform service procedure validation
- Complete special assignments as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering, Plant Manufacturing, Product Development, Supplier Quality, Field Service Representative, Field Service Engineering, or related experience
- Travel up to 90% both domestic and international
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- High degree of problem-solving skills and experience
- High level of oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and identify issues through data
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team environment
- Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee
- Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire
- Must be eligible to access classified information at the Secret level
- No immigration-related sponsorship is provided or available now or in the future
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Education/certificates in vehicle service repair
- Preferred: Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance on the first day of work
