About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop software to increase the capabilities, fidelity, observability, and scale of the HIL Platform and Integration services
- Deliver reliable software through requirements generation, continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams within the core AV organization
- Deliver complex projects through incremental development
- Work at the intersection of AV software, AI models, and hardware systems for vehicle autonomy
- Run, deploy, and test software on next-generation GM autonomous vehicles
- Manage and deploy HIL Services as a Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience writing production-quality software
- Strong system fundamentals and coding abilities in Python and C++
- Understanding of how to design high-performant software components
- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Preferred: Experience optimizing and/or evaluating complex software systems on dedicated hardware
- Preferred: Experience with ROS architectures
- Preferred: Experience with low-latency or real-time systems
- Preferred: Experience in the AV industry
- Preferred: Experience with SQL
- Preferred: Working experience with large build systems such as Bazel
