About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop software to increase the capabilities, fidelity, observability, and scale of the HIL Platform and Integration services
  • Deliver reliable software through requirements generation, continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams within the core AV organization
  • Deliver complex projects through incremental development
  • Work at the intersection of AV software, AI models, and hardware systems for vehicle autonomy
  • Run, deploy, and test software on next-generation GM autonomous vehicles
  • Manage and deploy HIL Services as a Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience writing production-quality software
  • Strong system fundamentals and coding abilities in Python and C++
  • Understanding of how to design high-performant software components
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Preferred: Experience optimizing and/or evaluating complex software systems on dedicated hardware
  • Preferred: Experience with ROS architectures
  • Preferred: Experience with low-latency or real-time systems
  • Preferred: Experience in the AV industry
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL
  • Preferred: Working experience with large build systems such as Bazel
