About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data science solutions
- Manage unstructured and multi-structured data
- Design, build, train, and deploy Generative AI and machine learning models
- Solve predictive and prescriptive problems across various domains
- Forecast trends, identify risks, and optimize operational processes using advanced analytics
- Create data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams
- Mentor junior data scientists
- Contribute to the growth and development of GM's data science community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in data science or a related analytical role
- Strong proficiency in Python, vector databases, and similarity search engines
- Hands-on experience with foundation models (LLMs) for structured reasoning tasks
- Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture and implementation
- Experience with agentic framework design and multi-agent system orchestration
- Experience with Human-in-the-loop (HITL) workflow design
- Familiarity with Kiro, Agent Strands, Bedrock AgentCore, and Bedrock Knowledge Base
- Demonstrated ability to apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to real-world business problems
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ph.D. in a related quantitative field is preferred
- Automotive experience is a plus
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
