Construction Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The goal is to efficiently lead and manage construction projects and installations, delivering high-quality results within the specified budget and timeline.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, foster customer satisfaction, and promote team development for future growth and success.
- Oversee both new construction and installation projects, ensuring proper coordination and alignment with project goals.
- Provide direction to contractors and vendors to maintain quality standards during groundwork.
- Collaborate with project manager, engineers, and sales managing estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
- Identify and address recurring construction issues while adhering to legal regulations, building codes, and safety requirements.
- Visit sites regularly during construction and attend status and coordination meetings.
- Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process.
- Maintain and update statement of work (SOW) and preconstruction documents.
- Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
- Serve as the point of contact for project management, contractors, and outside vendors.
- Communicate, monitor, and track change orders onsite.
- Responsible for working with project management to keep a project’s performance on track (Scope, Schedule, Cost).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in managing new construction and new equipment installations.
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies.
- Prior experience understanding of metalworking, fabrication, power transmissions, mechanical equipment, electrical control and/or programming a plus.
- Understanding of business P&L practices and responsibility.
- Blueprint reading required (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel 70-to-80% of the time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Background check is a requirement of the hiring process.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Bi-lingual abilities a plus.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
- Professional certification, such as CCM (certified construction manager), AC (associate constructor), or CPC (certified professional constructor), a plus.
