About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement systems software
- Determine systems software design requirements
- Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
- Generate systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
- Participate in software development from detailed programming to high-level system design
- Take responsibility for overall systems infrastructure, including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support
- Design, implement, install, maintain, and administer infrastructure, including hardware, software, and configurations
- Monitor overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune systems appropriately
- Perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement corrective measures
- Establish and improve processes and procedures with colleagues
- Own projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 5–7 years' experience
- Engineering degree required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Technical expertise
- Analytical thinking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods
- Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
- Ability to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
- Up to 25% travel likely
