About the role

  • Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services.
  • Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions.
  • Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids.
  • Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members.
  • Does not typically perform the work supervised.
  • Must have any type of one direct report or more.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment.
  • Oversees the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements.
  • Supervises the contracts administration staff and guides compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provides guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals.
  • Drives negotiations with suppliers, partners, or customers.

Requirements

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Discipline/Major: Business or relevant degree preferred.
  • Additional certifications: NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Contract compliance.
  • Contract lifecycle management.
  • Contract negotiation.
  • Contracts management & administration.
  • Contract review.
  • Contracting terms and conditions.
  • Contract management software.
  • Other: Government contracts experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of munitions: associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements.
