Key responsibilities & impact

Provide on-site support to executive-level clientele at the customer location
Support operation, fielding, testing, and training for secure mobile support devices
Develop strategies to streamline the executive support process
Author and deliver technical instructions and training material
Record technical information and schematics and create digital representations of deployable systems and equipment
Assist with planning, configuration, implementation, and installation of mobile and fixed communications platforms
Manage inventory control documents and life-cycle maintenance schedules
Conduct routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on SATCOM, VOIP, radio, computer, fiber-optic, server, KVM, router, switch, and fiber-distribution equipment
Provide administration, operations, technical, and customer support for deployed LMR, SATCOM, 5G cellular routers, and Windows terminals
Receive, transport, load, and configure COMSEC keying material
Provide feedback and guidance for communications capability replacements, upgrades, and augmentations
Develop, standardize, and deliver customer training seminars and lectures
Document standard operating procedures, routine tasks, system updates, manuals, diagrams, reports, and flow charts
Assist with acquisition, receipt, relocation, and deployment of equipment
Travel within the continental United States for mission activities, including trips of up to two weeks

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
U.S. citizenship required
6+ years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 2 years
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years or 6 years of equivalent experience
Available for 10–25% CONUS travel, including periods of up to two weeks
Local to the Washington, D.C./DMV area
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate complex mission information to U.S. Government leadership
Ability to establish relationships with partner agency personnel, equipment providers, and sibling programs
Ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision
Ability to meet weekly minimum work requirements and customer-requested travel requirements
Knowledge of mobile communications systems, including Iridium, 4G LTE/5G routers, secure mobile cellular devices, and VHF/SHF/UHF platforms
Understanding of IP networking, VOIP architecture, encrypted VTC systems, and PSTN
Knowledge of UHF/Ku/Ka satellite communications, Milstar, WGS, TDMA, and FDMA architectures
Knowledge of RF theory, HF propagation, VHF capabilities, and radio encryption
Understanding of site design and equipment integration
Familiarity with systems integration, hardware mounting, soldering, power tools, bench-stock modification, and cable installation/removal
Knowledge of electrical circuits, connector fabrication/splicing, and electronic equipment testing with digital multimeters
Experience troubleshooting communications problems with spectrum analyzers, OTDRs, bit-error-rate testers, network traffic analyzers, and packet inspection equipment
Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows administrative tools, and software interoperability
Knowledge of technical writing and documentation standards
Understanding of solutions procurement, alternatives assessment, requirements analysis, budgets, and implementation constraints
