About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review case reports to determine necessary supporting documentation for case follow-up based on Government guidelines
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Compose clinical abstracts from medical records and information received for cases in clinical follow-up
- Add medical codes using MedDRA medical coding terminology to define symptoms
- Update the VAERS database with information obtained through clinical follow-up
- Perform quality-control reviews of MedDRA codes added by medical coding staff to initial reports
- Collaborate with other units to support daily operations
- Triage VAERS reports for priority and assignment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of related experience
- 2 years of nursing, clinical, or public health experience
- Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred, or clinical healthcare provider
- Medical abstracting and coding experience with MedDRA, ICD-10, and CPT preferred
- Case management experience
- Proficiency in current computer technology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adhering to deadlines
- No US citizenship required
- No clearance required
