About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline engineering across our cloud environments.
Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Terraform-managed infrastructure.
Work closely with development and platform teams to increase deployment velocity, reliability, and security.
Design, build, and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure across dev, staging, and production environments.
Implement and enforce Terraform state management, workspace strategy, and module versioning.
Establish and follow IaC best practices: code review standards, automated plan/apply workflows, drift detection, and policy-as-code guardrails.
Identify and remediate technical debt in existing infrastructure code.
Collaborate with architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure design aligns with security baselines and compliance requirements.
Design, build, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, security scanning, and deployment of applications.
Standardize pipeline patterns across teams/repositories.
Implement deployment safety mechanisms: automated testing gates, canary/blue-green deployments, rollback automation, and release approvals.
Partner with development teams to identify and remove build/deploy friction.
Monitor pipeline health and performance.
Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for infrastructure and deployment-related issues.
Mentor junior engineers on Terraform and CI/CD best practices as opportunities arise.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) required at time of hire.
5+ years of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience.
Deep, hands-on production experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code across multi-environment cloud deployments.
Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar).
Strong working knowledge of core cloud services (networking, IAM, load balancing, monitoring/logging).
Experience with version control workflows (Git) and code review practices for infrastructure and pipeline code.
Solid scripting/automation ability (Bash, Python, or similar) to support pipeline and infrastructure tooling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document and explain technical decisions clearly.
