About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Designing, leading, and governing schedule and WBS practices across a portfolio of IT projects.
  • Managing the master IT project schedule in Microsoft Project Server.
  • Creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and WBS dictionaries.
  • Partnering with project managers and stakeholders to structure work, build robust schedules, and drive delivery outcomes.
  • Analyzing schedule data to identify cross-project impacts and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Leading selected complex IT projects (e.g., new product/service launches, platform upgrades, software implementations) end-to-end.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams (business, development, infrastructure, security, operations, vendors) to drive execution.
  • Providing practical guidance on defining activities, sequencing tasks, and managing baselines.
  • Use advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting insights to leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of IT project management experience
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project Server
  • Proficient in project management best practices
  • Experience in analyzing program/project status and providing documentation
  • Experience with ITSM based services
  • Experience with schedule development and WBS dictionaries
  • Required Certifications: DoD 8140.03 Work Role (802) IT Project Manager - Basic
  • Industry Certifications: PMP and ITIL Foundations (ITIL to be achieved within 3 months of hiring)
  • Education: BS or BA degree
  • Allowable Substitution: An additional 6 years of experience is required without a BS/BA degree.
  • An additional 4 years of experience is required with an AA/AS degree.
