Key responsibilities & impact

Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud computing environments
Monitor system performance, conduct capacity analysis, and address bottlenecks to ensure system efficiency and availability
Implement security measures, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with organizational and federal security requirements
Use advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting skills to resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational productivity

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
8-10+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience across enterprise environments
Deep proficiency in Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu
Expertise in command-line interfaces and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Perl)
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
Networking knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, and firewalls)
US Citizenship required
