About the role
- Maintain the design and integrity of the customer’s complex internal network, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environments
- Provide expert technical assistance to team members for high-level system and networking requests
- Secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs
- Design, implement, and test complex infrastructure in support of customer needs
- Define network strategy and document logical, physical, and process views
- Provide technical design and architectural leadership and create architectural design solutions
- Analyze network traffic and use network tools to assess security-related events for rapid identification during incidents and outages
- Design, configure, implement, and troubleshoot various network technologies and protocols
- Design, deploy, and maintain boundary security solutions and enterprise network architecture
- Install and maintain network equipment; troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Develop unique solutions that meet customer requirements and industry best practices
- Collaborate with other IT disciplines (Storage, Platform, Application) to resolve complex issues
- Develop and maintain configuration plans for Cisco ACI across multi-data-center configurations
- Present design solutions to client stakeholders and document maintenance for audits and compliance
- Communicate incident progress, coordinate changes and outages with customers
- Coach and support other engineers; participate in 24x7 on-call to resolve issues outside business hours
Requirements
- Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph required (Must Currently Possess: Top Secret SCI + Polygraph)
- Must be able to obtain Top Secret SCI + Polygraph
- US Citizenship Required
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience (additional experience may be substituted for a degree)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education/experience
- In-depth understanding of routing, switching, network monitoring and management
- Strong troubleshooting skills for network connectivity and security
- Expert in SDN engagements built around Cisco ACI
- Background in Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing in multi-data-center configurations
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with VXLAN/EVPN
- Experience analyzing network traffic and using network tools to assess security events
- Experience designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network technologies and protocols
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining boundary security solutions
- Ability to define network strategy and provide technical design and architectural leadership
- Ability to brief complex information to senior leadership
- Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call rotations
- Desired: Network Access Control and Segmentation, security compliance standards, site-to-site and remote access VPNs
- Desired: Network programmability and automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, REST APIs)
- Desired: Data center and co-location solutions, NextGen Firewall, Cisco DCNM, OTV, VMware NSX
