About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert across all aspects of the ServiceNow platform for USPS Enterprise Technology Services
- Ensure ServiceNow best practices are implemented and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate
- Lead upgrade initiatives and ensure platform currency
- Ensure proper documentation of ServiceNow solutions according to standards
- Keep up to date on ServiceNow functionality and make recommendations on how new features can be used to enhance business processes
- Continuously improve methods and practices to achieve increased quality and value delivery
- Analyzes systems and procedures to refine their formulation and converts them to programmable formats
- Writes or updates software specifications
- Creates logical data models based on functional requirements
- Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery
- Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users
- Develops analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems
- Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics
- Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems
- Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs
- May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
- Participates in special projects as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 8+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle
- 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow platform
- Experience with ServiceNow development with knowledge of code best practices
- Knowledge/experience with functional and technical knowledge of ServiceNow platform and architecture
- Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
- Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
- Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Problem/Risk Management
- MS Office Suite
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process.
