About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support mission-critical initiatives and enable the growth of our business as a Business Development Director at GDIT
- Lead all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts
- Meet with customers to understand the customer territory—relative to portfolio of deals
- Develop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned Sector or market segment
- Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Sector growth goals, and submit targets
- Execute call plans to collect information about opportunities
- Collaborate with technical staff, offers and tests potential solutions
- Document customer meetings in Salesforce
- Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers
- Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy, strengthen key customer relationships
- Identify competitors, assess strategic fit, assess OCI
- Prepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews
- Develop and brief Pursuit Reviews
- Provide insight from customer point of view throughout opportunity life cycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of related experience
- BS/BA Degree Required
- Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal experience within the DoW/Army environment; preferably in a technical area (i.e. Signals, Cyber, etc.) and/or acquisition background (i.e. ACC, ACC-APG, PEO, CPE, PAE)
- Demonstrated experience managing a pipeline of business focused on year-over-year Growth or equivalent experience managing a pipeline of acquisitions or major government projects
- Demonstrable track record of success converting that pipeline into single award wins upward of $50M and/or equivalent experience managing government projects or acquisition to successful completion/execution
- Experience developing Account Strategies or Strategies for Capability Development and Acquisition
- Experience with forecasting capabilities and tools, including CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce), SharePoint, and all Microsoft Office applications
- Assuming prior business development experience, willingness to provide ‘deal sheet’ of opportunities led and supported with results (won, lost, pending) [without disclosing proprietary information]
