About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, design, test, and deploy perimeter security systems including firewalls and proxy devices
- Responsible for firewall rule changes and security recommendations
- Manage and support all Network security hardware, software, and cloud security services
- Collaborate with existing CyberOps staff and federal management
- Drive key outcomes and direct team innovation
- Plan, document, and implement hardware and software refresh of security devices
- Conduct periodic firewall rule set review and auditing
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for perimeter hardware and software
- Attend teleconferences, onsite meetings, and participate in working groups as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of related experience
- US Citizenship Required
- IT network engineering support experience (Tier II, Tier III)
- 3+ years supporting cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
- IPv6 knowledge and implementation experience
- Competence with Linux and firewall command line interfaces
- Expert experience in security devices: Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA/Firepower, etc.
- Intermediate Linux experience with command line and understanding of basic scripting
- Firsthand experience in developing quality assurance review of engineering change orders
- Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification and mitigation
- Experienced with network monitoring and log analysis applications such as Splunk Enterprise, Nagios, etc.
- Clearance level: Q level clearance or equivalent
