About the role

  • Provide support and maintenance for end-user systems and applications in a diverse and dynamic technical environment
  • Design, implement, and support desktop systems, applications, and peripheral devices
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for hardware and software issues
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and deploy desktop solutions
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of desktop environments
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and technical procedures
  • Implement and manage desktop security policies and best practices
  • Conduct research and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and user experience
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior desktop engineers and support staff
  • Coordinate with vendors for maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (4+ years of relevant experience may substitute)
  • 3 to 10+ years of experience in desktop engineering depending on level
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking principles, and cloud services
  • Proven experience with desktop management tools such as SCCM, Jamf, or similar
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Citrix preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar preferred
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) preferred
