About the role
- Provide testing and analysis to support CMS program and the migration of IDR Teradata data and ETLs from Informatica to the Snowflake Cloud
- Review and analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, system requirements and technical specifications
- Develop test scenarios, document test cases, create test data/files, compile test summary documentation and provide work estimation for testing tasks
- Design, develop and execute test cases for RESTful and SOAP APIs; validate request/response payloads, headers, status codes, and error handling
- Perform functional, regression, integration and performance testing of APIs and ETLs
- Automate API test suites using tools like Postman, JMeter and SoapUI and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Provide cross functional support to help resolve defects and make recommendations to improve overall quality
- Collect and communicate findings from test results to internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate status and critical issues to management and scrum masters
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and trends in IT quality assurance
- Collaborate with team, resource manager, and scrum masters to identify risks and mitigation activities and recommend/implement corrective actions as needed
- Ensure new processes are documented and reviewed with team; participate in agile ceremonies (daily scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning, PI, retrospective)
- Participate in special projects as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of related software testing experience
- BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Solid back-end testing experience in writing and executing SQL queries
- Experience with data warehouse ETL testing and data quality management
- Experience with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Snowflake (Platform), Postman (Platform), SoapUI, JMeter and other Software Testing Tools
- Experience with Atlassian (Confluence, Jira), TestRail, Test Director, Informatica (PowerCenter, DEI), Datastage, Databricks, AWS (S3, CLI, EMR, EC2, Glue, Cloudtamer)
- Experience automating API tests, developing test scripts and implementing tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of various software testing methods including functional, regression, integration and performance testing
- Ability to review, test and evaluate the work of others by participating in Peer Reviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; recommends improvement to support quality
- Ability to be flexible to changing demands and priorities
- Excellent teamwork and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of the team
- Ability to pass CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least 3 of the last 5 years
- Public Trust/Other Required: NACI (T1)
- US Citizenship Required: No (but residency requirement applies)
