- Our work depends on a NCRB System/Network Architect/Engineer (Senior Level) joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code for our government customer, the United States Postal Service
- HOW A NCRB SYSTEM/NETWORK ARCHITECT/ENGINEER (SENIOR LEVEL) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: apply change control processes, conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, provide input, document requirements and support the design
- Experienced with firewall operations, management processes and leading practices
- Has a strong understanding of IPv6 and RFC 1918
- WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Knowledge and experience in networking, security, and IT operations; ability to work with AI for regulatory compliance; change control emphasis
- This role requires U.S. residency and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- The USPS requires residents of the U.S. (including territories) who meet residency requirements
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; NOTE: If resources do not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required
- Required Experience: 11+ years’ experience in IT, data, or operational analysis, and/or security
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Sec+
- Skilled Communicator – Facilitator
- Able to engage and interact with all organizational/personnel levels
- Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business owners
- Consult with other members of the project team and develop documentation
- Demonstrable awareness of Splunk reporting
- Demonstrable Admin knowledge for Windows, Unix, and Cisco
- Experience with network firewalls, routers, switches and rule configuration for Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet devices
- Review firewall rule sets and log analysis for inefficient, unapproved rules
- Research problems and recommend solutions to improve security with the assistance of AI
- AI should be used to ensure regulatory compliance by using it to analyze large datasets to identify potential violations and track compliance efforts
- Support a nationwide implementation of firewalls and manage firewall rules; current process is manual; AI engagement expected to analyze data to identify trends
- Familiarity with network discovery tools and experience with Change/Incident/Problem management
- Complete change control assessments
- Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics using AI or LLM
- Integrate change control activities into project plan
- Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
- Experience and knowledge of change control principles, methodologies, and tools
- Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- USPS security clearance process requires residency in the U.S. for the last five years; specific travel restrictions for citizens and non-citizens
