About the role
- Serve as on-site contractor at the Department of State assisting CTR in developing, managing, and coordinating FIRST and civil nuclear security programming
- Provide programmatic, financial, and technical oversight to assigned projects and activities
- Develop and implement country-specific, time-sensitive, and complex projects and strategies in partnership with host government officials
- Manage complex and sensitive relationships with interagency partners and U.S. government agencies
- Review threat reduction project proposals and recommend funding based on expertise
- Support CTR’s budget planning, prepare documentation for grants/cooperative agreements/Interagency Agreements, and perform financial monitoring, reconciliation, and closeout
- Conduct research and analysis to support tailored programs advancing national security priorities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; represent CTR in technical and policy discussions and working groups
- Collaborate across the State Department and U.S. interagency to align programs with USG nonproliferation priorities
- Brief high-level officials, foreign governments, and senior industry executives on programmatic activities and policy perspectives
- Represent CTR in domestic and foreign meetings; perform other activities as assigned by leadership
Requirements
- 4+ years of related experience (Analyst level) or 6+ for Senior Analyst
- Demonstrated experience with USG international nonproliferation, nuclear energy, scientific, or WMD nonproliferation programs
- General familiarity with civil nuclear reactor technology, ideally including small modular reactors (SMRs)
- Skills: International Security, National Security, Nonproliferation, Nuclear Security, Training Programs
- Strong writing skills and experience in analysis, research, strategy development
- Experience with interagency coordination and implementing international programs
- Outstanding skills in diplomacy, communication, teamwork, stakeholder coordination, and project management
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, and facilitating exercises and workshops
- Ability to receive and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- International travel required; foreign language skills a plus
- Education: Bachelor's degree (Analyst) or Master's/Ph.D. with relevant years of experience
